Well done, Stevie, Master Dino looked very impressive. My one a bit disappointing, but will be better for the experience and over further.
  • Only Track/Distance winners in race
Amadeus, they are listed as c&d winners in RP and others. But I know you use the same site as me, it takes rail adjustments into account which makes it more accurate. For example, when Sixties Idol won over 2m4.5f, rail adjustments added over half a furlong to the distance making 2m5f the correct distance.

Like Aypee, my selection in the race would also be Sams Profile. Wasn’t planning to have a bet in the race, but at 20/1, I might just have a small bet on it now.
  • 2.40 Plumpton
Good luck. I have backed Big Meadow also, finished 8th (25/1) in this race last year but that was on heavy and only his 2nd chase start. With more experience, I think he will put up a better show today, and as you said he ran well at Exeter recently. I think he has a good chance.
  • 3.40 Cork
    Well done again.

  • Trainer form month on month....Members thoughts please....

Time to revisit this very interesting post from Owenjohn from 3 months ago. I got reminded of this post thanks to Trainerlayer’s selection of Archimedes today. Now, David Griffiths has not had a winner since this post was made, but it should not be that surprising as he has never had many winners in months of October through to December and his strike rate goes up dramatically from January. In fact, today he equalled his previous longest losing run of 57 that ended on 10th January 2017. His 3 runners today didn’t actually run that badly (finishing 4th, 5th & 6th) considering they were all big prices, which could be another sign that he is about to come back to form. I wanted to see how his runners performed after his last longest losing run ended, and looked at his next 57 runners from 10th Jan 2017. These produced 10 winners with LSP of +11 at SP, if that doesn’t sound that impressive then you can exclude 16 runners that were having their first run of season as we know he rarely gets winners first time, and none of those 16 won. That leaves us with 10 winners from 41 with LSP of 27, and most of those wins came from horses that had finished in 2nd to 6th place on their previous run. So to summarise, I think it may be worth considering his runners for next few months, including the 3 that ran well today to finish just out of places.
  • trying New system 3 each way bets for today
Well done with 2 good priced placers, good luck with the last one.
  • Southwell L31
Thanks, CMB. It started well with 8/1 winner but nothing else to go with it. They ran ok enough, but just finishing out of places.
  • Fancied
    Really sorry to hear that.
  • Another laying thread
Sorry, it turned out to be a bad lay. It’s been a while since I had two losses in a row, but it does happen that’s why the warning about laying being costly if you hit a bad run. It does feel worse though that other people may be following me, so apologies

Unlucky mate, led for a long way, maybe worth a try when they next run him over 5 here. I don’t think Griffiths’ two runners in the next race are without a chance either.
  • Another laying thread
Two more favourites beaten at Southwell, it’s now been last 18 favourites at Southwell that have been beaten, so I hope that drought doesn’t end with the one I have layed as it is strong in betting. Actually I was waiting all morning to see if they would make Francophilia the favourite in 2nd race and I would lay it, but it was only before the off they made it 2/1 from earlier 10/3, that looked a false favourite to me.

Good luck, mate, was on my shortlist today as he runs well here but distance was the ngative for me as all wins over 5f.
