Thanks everyone. Nice to get an easy winner after my bad run of form. If Rewaayat’s similarities with his dam continue then he should win again next time as Rufoof won again next time (from mark of 70) after she got her first win.

It’s a pity that the runner up shortened so much in betting (was 12/1 earlier), forecast would have paid much better if it didn’t.

Not having a bet in the race, but if I had to I would pick Iballisticvin. They seem to be trying for the win, there was a bit of move for this one last time (16/1 into 9/2 before going out to 8/1) and showed improved form to finish 2nd in first time cheekpieces. Cheekpieces have gone and now they are trying the visor for first time, small move so far from 8/1 into 6/1. Has won here before, but never won on ground this quick ( 2 places from 11 runs on good to firm). Good luck with your selections.

Well said, New Zealand took it very gracefully. Yes, England were certainly lucky with that overthrow situation, they should have got only 5 runs but I think most people were not aware of the rule about batsmen needing to have crossed at the moment of fielder releasing the ball for the run to count as it’s a very rare occurrence. I didn’t know about it, the players didn’t, Williamson has said he didn’t know about it, and the umpires made a mistake (there is no excuse for umpires not knowing about the rule). I think it was retired umpire Simon Taufel (who btw is widely regarded as the best ever ump) who first pointed out the error.

Only thing I was right about was that she was closely matched with morning favourite Kimblewick as they finished very close together in the race, but 4 others were ahead of them. Quite badly beaten in the end after weakening, very similar run to last time so not progressing.
