Good spot, CMB. You are correct, he has never had a runner at Hamilton before. De Sousa has only ridden for once before, just over a year ago and finished 2nd on a 9/2 shot. Horse does need to improve but it is a poor race. This is his 2nd time in a handicap, and interestingly Menuisier has a much better record 2nd time in handicap than 1st, his record 2nd time is 7 wins from 33 runners (+17 LSP), from the losers 10 were priced 20/1 or bigger. 2 of those 7 winners had been well beaten (10+ lengths) on their previous run, price of winners were 8/1 and 16/1.

Bramble Brook went very close, I would have been kicking myself if he had won. Lucky 15 was rubbish, one to run but not expecting anything.

Thanks, Dodd. Bit disappointed with that run really, backed into 5/4 and looked to be going well but as you say found nothing when it mattered.

Slalom each way for me, unbeaten after 3 starts and won Group 3 very easily last time, has to improve but I think he will be thereabouts. Owner’s other runner Starmaniac (25/1) could also run well at a big price.
