I had a restriction on PP’s BOG prior to them changing their T&C’s which I think was a few months ago so it only applied day of the race / 8:00am.

I got stung prior to that on a royal ascot Yankee placed with WH at about 11:55pm night before and were 3 of 4 selections drifted heavily and then all placed; my return was shocking compared to what I’d have got on Skybet with BOG.

So Hi Cardi’s mark has dropped very quickly and if you forgive his latest run (Southwell, so easily forgiven), he could be well treated having run well with cut at Goodwood. Paula Muir is in decent form too and good value for her claim. 14/1 looks a decent e/w bet in a weak race.

Had a small bet on Galashiel and swerved Love Dreams based on Hippo’s post about the ground (thanks Hippo) and nice each way return at 12s.

That’s a result Hippo. Nice one. Raising Sand still 20s. Been in great form this summer and will be a great performance if he goes in carrying top weight.

Not that my current picks are worth following but I’m going to see what the ground is like and what Osborne says on the Lambourn blog but fancy Love Dreams to go well at 9/2. Seems to get a mile although unproven at the trip on soft or worse (will swerve if it goes heavy). Likes Goodwood too and off 7lb lower than official mark.

Think the ex-French Galashiel might have a chance if bottomless although tough to win these off a full rating.
