Stunning tipping that Hippo. Thanks for your persistence given some of the stick you have taken. No one wins ‘em all and we all have bad runs (I’m having one right now) but your selections are always well informed and valued by the majority here as this thread suggests. Cheers and hope you enjoyed the day!

Cracking selections Hippo. Was some great each way value in the Battaash race. Looked last night and second fav was 9/1 at one point! I still fondly recall Take Cover at 20s popping up a couple of years ago so had 50p e/w on Ornate based on faith in Griffiths because of that (and your post above too). Cheers

Was drawn wide and that was enough to make me swerve it. Those races are a nightmare. The favourite had no sort of form and gets backed from double figures into 2/1 at one point.

Good spot Mugz. Very patient ride on Platform Nineteen yesterday at Nottingham. Was nervous until he pushed the button and he flew home.

I’ve had a few quid with PP (money back as free bet if Threat wins) on Guildsman too. Has course form, will prefer the ground to Newmarket and looks too big at 15/2.

I’m liking Leo De Fury too Hippo; could be a good price if the irish noises are anything to go by. Seems to be a few talking it up.

Also liking Full Verse (4:10), Tulip Fields (4:45) and Celsius (5:20). Done combination of doubles, trebles and 4-fold (only small steaks).

    Good luck

First go at this; had a good start on my own tips in July before tailing off. Good luck all.

Cheers and good luck with your bet too.

Great write up Jack; on each way at 11s.

Might do a reverse forecast with Persian Moon too as that looks overpriced to me as long as the ground doesn’t go too soft. He is weighted to reverse Ascot form with Eminence (gets 5lb rather than 9lb for a neck) and that horse is 9/1 to Persian Moon’s 16s.

At least you didn’t back the fav, thought he’d got up there

Interesting he’s now in to 8/1. Hope he can deliver!

33s with the sponsor for the Skybet Dash at York, each way paying 5 places. Could be an interesting one to see if he goes for that next (and gets in) as the extra furlong could work in his favour.

I backed Pettochside in a multiple at 12s last night so 28s must be value! I’ve just taken 22s (with power up) on the e/w single. His 5f runs this season in general stack up off this mark, goes on any ground and only concern is a class 3 might just find him out.

I’m also having a small each way on Flighty Almighty in the following race. Has been highly tried in listed company at York on 3rd start and then the Sandringham so hoping the drop in class might see her competitive at 25/1. Not obviously well treated but worth a small punt at a big price.
  • The standard of tipping on here lately
This forum has some excellent members who post some great info, observations and thoughts but there are unrealistic expectations from some (old and new members) and it’ll put new members off posting.

I feel sorry for what Mugz has had to put up with, given that I’m guessing he does this more for the love of it than any financial gain.

I’ll keep coming on here as I like reading Mugz’ selections, AKD, etc etc but will only post occasionally.

Let’s hope that we can all find some winners in the coming weeks! Good luck all.

Think Mendamay is a big price on form at 20s.
  • What a match
Great sport today; the cricket was amazing. Thought NZ were very unlucky and were probably the better side on the day but nothing between them really. Tennis was amazing too, flicking on in between overs and seeing it go on and on. All-time greats the pair of them. Made up for such shit UK racing!

Shocker of a day. Can’t win them all.
