Thanks everyone, and thanks Amadeus for putting up provisional entries for Sunday, would have to consider race and handicap mark before backing Ornate if he runs again, as generally trainer’s record with follow up wins in handicaps isn’t great.

If anyone is wondering, I have checked already, he doesn’t have any runners tomorrow. I will post whenever his next runners are, or if someone spots them before I do please feel free to post them here.

I shouldn’t have doubted, didn’t do the double unfortunately, but I hope some of you did.

Western Jo ran a very good race, dropped to 3rd at the finish but happy with that.

Thanks everyone, pleased to know that people backed it. Nice drift too, this one looked stronger chance of his two today, other one should run well too, only question would be that 6th furlong here but it’s not impossible.

No problem, Amadeus. Yes, this is the month he starts having winners, always seems to have poor October to December, and it also means his horses that have been running over last 3 months should be well handicapped now.

Griffiths has two more runners at Southwell tomorrow, one of them Ornate (1:20), I backed this one last time and it was beaten just half a length, takes a slight drop in class tomorrow so should go close again. Other one Pearl Acclaim (3:00) is certainly well handicapped and has a good record here, though most of his wins have come over 5f, his only 6f win came at Ripon.

Disappointing from Colonel Miller, Debrouillard ran ok but only 4th.

Unlucky with Ah Well, Amadeus, 3rd of 7. I find sometimes a better option is to back win and place separately instead of each way, in cases like this when field of 8 becomes 7 through non runner, you still get 3 places though there is a rule 4.

After all that, Before Midnight is out of race due to being unwell, so my earlier forecast bets are void. I have instead had a small each way bet on Colonel Miller (8/1) now as that was next on my list after the favourite.
