4TH NOVEMBER 2018 | CARLISLE
We send five to Carlisle today.
1.00 - One For Rosie has had one bumper outing winning at Bangor a year ago staying on well despite running green in the closing stages. He makes his hurdles bow here and though taking on some more experienced rivals is expected to go very well upped in trip to 2m 4f. Sam Twiston-Davies rides.
1.30 - Scotchtown went close on a couple of occasions in his six chases last season and returns on what looks to be a good handicap mark of 126. All his races were over 2m 7f or further and the drop back to 2m 4f on this good ground should suit. Sam rides and the pair look to have a solid each way chance. We also run Count Maribel in this who ran up a hat trick of hurdle wins, rising from 124 to 143 in the process. He makes his chase debut here from 6lbs lower and if taking to the larger obstacles would also have a good each way chance over a trip he won over as a hurdler. Mark Grant rides.
2.40 - Ballycross went well on his seasonal debut at Warwick six weeks ago to be 4th of 10 and can show improvement for that from the same mark and top weight here. He appreciates these sort of trips (3m 2f) and can find some improvement too. Sam aboard. Yanmare also runs in this from a mark just a pound higher than when winning at Exeter 11 months ago over 4 1/2 furlongs further. Hasn’t gone well in three races since, the last in April, but has previously gone well when returning fresh, notably when winning and going on to complete a hat trick two seasons ago. Jamie Bargary rides.
HT goes for Cuunt Meribel in the next. Always tricky when trainer has two in the race. A tipping sevice (Snowy) who seems quite good and has offered a free trial goes with Ballycross in the 2.40
