David Menuisier sends this one on a 870 mile round trip. Horse hasn't shown anything recently. It's his only runner today. SDS booked. Looking at the data I don't think he's ever had a runner at Hamilton. Could be nothing but seems odd that he sends this one so far and the price isn't bigger?
Good spot, CMB. You are correct, he has never had a runner at Hamilton before. De Sousa has only ridden for once before, just over a year ago and finished 2nd on a 9/2 shot. Horse does need to improve but it is a poor race. This is his 2nd time in a handicap, and interestingly Menuisier has a much better record 2nd time in handicap than 1st, his record 2nd time is 7 wins from 33 runners (+17 LSP), from the losers 10 were priced 20/1 or bigger. 2 of those 7 winners had been well beaten (10+ lengths) on their previous run, price of winners were 8/1 and 16/1.
Agreed nice spot, but a certain C Byrnes has a runner here also, his only one for a few days in the UK. That's some expense for a Class6 handicap, as he usually sends at least 2 across the water, to be shipped from Limerick to Hamilton so must have some chance (but could be a pipe opener for the Stratford race on the 10th)
