BEST of the BETS

Couple of small singles and each way double on these two for me today.

3:40 Brighton - I have backed Brighton specialist ROY ROCKET (13/2) in this, the 9 year old has won here 9 times from 29 races, compare that to his record of 0 from 35 elsewhere, and from those 35 runs he has placed only twice so it’s encouraging that he finished 2nd at Windsor last time. Has continued to drop in weights, 12 lbs lower than his last win a year ago, and 4 lbs lower than when 3rd of 12 (beaten 7 lengths) over c&d in June. Versatile regarding ground, so no reason why he shouldn’t run well.

3:00 Kempton - MOSTAWAA (8/1) was an easy winner at Newcastle last November on his 2nd start, several winners have come from that race and among the first 6 a couple are now rated in 80s and the lowest one rated 74. First two from this race last year are now rated in high 70s, assuming this race is of a similar standard Mostawaa will need to run to low 80s (due to 5 lbs penalty) to win this but form of last race says he could easily do that if fit enough. Fitness is the question mark but it’s a big enough price for me to take a chance.
