Just a thought ... Kingcote didn't ride the "winner" of the Plate for Dascombe, as donkey Elliott failed to get Proschema in any position at all, running the fractions, the horse would have been 4 lengths clear at the line if positioned even midfield rather than taking the wide. So, I'm just thinking that Williams had a good idea to get Kingscote to ride Cardano today. Looks as if this has been backed consistently and is only still the price due to it looking an open handicap. Now this horse has been transferred from A/W and coped admirably on soft to notch up a couple of wins (Kingscote up once on turf) and then went off a short price fav off a welter burden under an average ride by Keegan). I'm thinking there could be a lot more to come from this horse now, on good ground and with cheekpieces up. Not a great price and probably may not be value at the price, but it is the kind of horse which ticks a lot of boxes.
