7:10 Southwell - shockingly bad race, 3 of the 4 runners were well beaten on their debuts and between the three of them beat a total of 3 horses. Only one that has placed form, Sommer Katze, is as short as 1/7 in places (1/5 generally), but even his debut form looks a bit dubious, the winner had finished last on his two previous runs beaten a total of 50 lengths and has since been well beaten in a handicap off 58, and the 3rd horse had a rating of 44 as the two form horses failed to give their running. He will probably still win but at a price like this I am going to back against him for a bit of fun. HENRY THE SIXTH (11/1) was eventually beaten 37 lengths having been eased but he did show plenty of early speed and was leading for first 4 out of 6 furlongs here, that race wasn’t as bad as this, a furlong shorter today and as Scott Dixon’s runners show some improvement 2nd time he might do a bit better today. His dam Six Wives was something of a course specialist here, winning 4 times from 16 runs over c&d (6 from 66 elsewhere), 2 of those wins were for Dixon, best from a mark of 77.
Not expecting anything, but it would be nice if he can win at a good price.
