Ffos Las, Kempton Park & Sedgefield
Five runners for Nigel Twiston-Davies & Team Twiston across three different tracks today.
Ffos Las Racecourse
1.00 - Milanstorm is a bumper winner but yet to score in six hurdles outings. Has had a couple of third places though, latest last time at Perth when upped to 3m. Goes over the same trip and ground here from the same mark of 101, but more to come and this looks a good opportunity for him. Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.
3.10 - Ballyandy goes from top weight and a mark of 154 in this, the Welsh Champion Hurdle. Has had a nice break since Cheltenham in March, prior to which he won a nice grade two event at Haydock. Is a pound lower than those two runs, returns in very good heart and looks sure to get amongst them. Sam Twiston-Davies aboard and the pair look good each way value.
Kempton Park Racecourse
2.57 - Locker Room Talk had a good season last term when turning to chasing, with two wins and three third placed from his five outings. He went from a mark of 127 to 139 in those outings, but both wins were when paired with today’s rider, Jack Savage. Jack takes off 7lbs again here, the 2m 2f will suit and with more to come, another good run is expected.
Sedgefield Racecourse
4.33 - Arthur’s Gift seems to enjoy these 3m plus races, so hopeful he’ll find the 3m 5f to his liking. He ran some good races in defeat last term, notably when runner up at Bangor in November, but has done most of his running on slower ground than the prevailing good surface. This is now more likely to suit him and with him often running well fresh, looks to have good each way chances. Tom Bellamy rides.
5.10 - Rocco had a season chasing last term when he showed some good form with a win at Stratford over slightly shorter than today’s 2m 4f, plus a couple of places. Returns to hurdles today on the same mark of 128, 4lbs below his current chase mark. This looks to be a good opportunity and is another with good each way chances. Tom Bellamy in the saddle.
