  • 7.15 Kempton any thoughts.
My reasons for backing it. This is the first time he has dropped low enough in ratings to be able to run in class 5 handicap for nearly 3 years. Although he is 0 from 6 over c&d, he has been beaten 6 lengths and 5 lengths on last two of those from marks of 82 & 80 respectively, today he runs off 75 so should finish a lot closer based on that form. Last win (May 2018) also came after a break so fitness shouldn’t be a problem. One negative that sounds a note of caution is that they ran him in a claimer last time, a race he should have won as the weights greatly favoured him but he got beaten. But as it’s 16/1, I think it’s worth a small risk.

    Good luck.

I was just about to start a thread about it, you beat me by seconds only. I am on same horse, will my post reasons shortly.

“If your risk free bet is an Each-Way selection that is placed, and the return on the bet is less than the total stake, we will refund the difference between your return and the total stake. If your return is greater than the total stake then no refund will be given.” Copied from Bet365

You can back each way, but I find that unless it’s a big price, better option is to go straight win in these situations.

Thanks guys. Got 7/1 for Archimedes last night. Warriors Valley also didn’t run badly, remember he was up in class so to finish 5th is not bad, his turn can’t be far away, drop him back to weaker class 5 or 6 and over an easier 5 furlong, maybe at Lingfield where he has won before.

    No runners for Griffiths tomorrow.

So far it’s gone even better than I expected, 5 winners from 12, +20 LSP @ SP (more at early prices) since I started following, should be few more winners to come yet, prices will probably start dropping though as everyone will be aware that he is in form now.

Red Cymbal was only 8th, but it wasn’t a confident selection as there were enough doubts.

There are two more from Griffiths tomorrow, and I have already backed both.

6:55 Newcastle - Warriors Valley (25/1), this is one of the 3 horses that ran well on the day that I felt was turning point in trainer’s form, other two Archimedes and Pearl Acclaim won next time. It will be harder for this one, because unlike other two, this one is stepping up in class (I know last race was class 5 too, but this is a higher band of class 5 with top weight on 77 so this is more like a class 4 really). But despite the class rise, I think he will run better than his odds and I have backed each way.

7:25 Newcastle - Archimedes (7/1), he won over c&d last time, up 4 lbs for that but on old form he still looks well handicapped so not impossible to see him follow up.

    Good luck.
  • Lingfield
Other two also unplaced, so a poor day overall.
  • Lingfield
One last bet for me today in the 3:30.

Vanity Vanity was ridden by an apprentice last time, but had gone very close under today’s jockey the time before over a furlong shorter here, the front two from that race have won since. 1 lb higher than that but I think she should go close again. Small each way @ 7/1.

    Good luck.

    No good with Smokey Lane.

Small bet on K Club in this. Only 5th last time but that was in a conditions race where she was the lowest rated runner. Narrow win over c&d before that, 2 lbs rise for that not impossible to overcome as she is still unexposed on this surface. Moore’s record for Hannon isn’t great, but I have taken a small chance anyway.
  • 4 10 Kempton
    Won very nicely, well done.
  • 6.45 Kempton
Can’t argue against this one’s chances, does look the one to beat. Good luck.

Griffiths has 1 runner at Lingfield tomorrow

    Red Cymbal in 2:25

I might have a very small bet on it as it’s a big price (14/1 currently), but it wouldn’t be a confident bet for me as I am mostly concentrating on his runners that finished in first 6 last time, and this one didn’t. He would have a chance on his run here in November when beaten a length in a bunch finish as he is 3 lbs lower than that. But that was over 6 furlongs, extra furlong tomorrow is the question mark especially as it’s a strong looking class 4.
  • 5.15 Kemp - What a dire race !!!! Any views
Thanks everyone, won with a bit to spare and made me wish I had put a bit more on it.
  • 5.15 Kemp - What a dire race !!!! Any views
Yes a very poor race, not only the horses don’t know how to win, even most of the trainers represented in the race have been struggling to get winners recently, John Bridger is one of the exceptions and he had a similar winner couple of days ago so I have gone with his runner Deer Song (11/1), it has 1 win from 53 so needless to say I am betting very small stakes but at least it has 4 placings from 11 runs over this c&d compared to 4 placings from 42 runs elsewhere.
