Medicine Jack paid 4.9 the place. That's £9.90 less commission = £9.30. So just over half the place singles outlay returned from one bet. However, when added to multiples loss of 3 full points (£6) I still lost £14.70. Going to lick my wounds today. Have an idea for reducing bets way down, but high win/place % SR (so far) at big odds.

In fact it was 2 wins and 4 placers, the best of which was Rest And Co 3rd 16/1 (25s posted), which paid 5.01 Betfair place.

28 selections, total of 19.86 returned on Betfair place. Loss 8.14, plus the multiples loss which equated to another 3.25 full points, so loss of 11.39 points (£22.78) on day.

Have decided to cut right down on selections, only those 16/1 snd over will qualify. Also trying the Irish for first time with these picks.

As usual 1 pt (£2) Betfair place on each, and full 9 selections done this time in 1/40th (5p) win doubles and trebles (120 bets = £6). Total £24 staked.

Shlda updated yesterday's place returns first. 10 pts out, 15.2 in, +5.2. Less commission is +4.76. Less the multiples now done at 1/40th singles unit stakes (2xgroups of 5 yesterday, win doubles and trebles) is +3.76.

Or to put it in cash terms (place bets £2 each, multiples to 5p unit stakes) it's +£7.52.
