Going to track Lucky Begger, he should be winning in the next few weeks, I noticed he was hampered and jockey went easy on him, one for another day back here

Good prices because the markets underestimate the course form. As per last weeks discussion, the trainer will have set plans with the owners months ago for this track, last few runs have merely been prep runs to maintain fitness and get the horses in the routine of travelling to the races etc.

The markets are looking at the last 3 races in the horses form where as Im focusing on Southwell form only.

Notice the winners were strong in the betting late on, being clipped a few points in the betting, that’s because connections were on today.

With respect to the first race, my selection went well, the winner, although didn’t have course form was clearly set out for this track, the dam was a course winner, and it was well backed.

12:05 - Sheridan, 3-1, Paddy, Front two in the betting have the course form I just prefer the favs form

    12:35 - Weld Al Emarat, 11-2, Paddy

105, Piazon, 8-1, Bet365, don’t know much about the trainer but this was has crashed down the handicap the last 12 months and if she has half a horse back he should win.

215, Virnon, 14-1, Paddy, Bet365, below a cd winning mark, recent spin over hurdles may have been needed for fitness

245, Lucky Begger, 13-2, Bet365, Paddy Trainer runs 3 and this looks his best chance to me. No win here but placed off much higher marks, this his easiest task on the surface to date.
  • 4.0 bumper time again
Yeh, I like that one, trainer had a couple of bumper winners in the last few days

Osbourne is a master at Claimers but don’t like that he is running 2, I’ll dodge this race

Gone for Vigee Le Brun in this, first run on the all weather for O’Meara and first time in a 0-55. Only 2nd run on Polytrack, only other run was third behind a 100 horse. Good draw and jockey tonight.

Negative is that last run, no apparent excuse for the poor effort and could be on the downgrade

    Bet - Vigee Le Brun, 13-2, Bet365
  • November Handicap
    Nice call
  • tricksy spirit 645 10s
Nice 40-1 placer for Hugh in that one
  • Breathtaking Look
Williams has said to ATR that he was concerned about how his runner would handle the bends, her maiden was on the straight course.

So maybe, just maybe, it was thought, we think she’ll handle the bends, but we’re not sure, Hugo’s does handle the bends, his has been well backed, so, tonight, well hold ours up, see how she handles the bends, and ‘go to the well’ another day.
  • Aw racing your vote
Barney was a bit of a special case, his business model was unique for a trainer in that the majority of his revenue came from betting. Most of the time his was the sole owner of the horses in his yard, he didn’t get income from owners. His gambling kept the stable going including the wages of his staff. He has also channeled most of his gains into charities in Africa.

He had an almost comical vendetta against the bookies, It turns out this vendetta was rooted in his own father being ruined by gambling.

Again his modus operandi was no secret and as a punter you just factor it in.

I personally found his coups entertaining, three or four class 2 types opening up at double figure odds in class 6 handicaps and scooting home on the bridle at SP odds on favourites, all on the same day. It not often the bookies get caught with their pants down and he did it regularly, he didn’t break any rules and appears to have put his (bookmakers) money into noble causes.
  • The guy was once a clown now he is an asset
Lol, not sure if that’s a compliment or what, but thanks

I thought Turanga Leela has a decent chance of following up, down in class, Wotadoll up in class but fit and in form, just favour Turanga Leela
