Well both bets landed. Again lee gives a horse little chance but the winner looks good anyway so happy with small return and Flippa does it nicely at the bumper price of 2/1!!!!
  • Windsor 650
Actually wasnt too disappointed with 3rd...drifted from 6/1 to 14/1 at one stage and Spencer gave it an "introductory" ride. will be seen at its best back over 7f and will win races at big odds again this season.

My only grouse is when will other jocks stop letting De Souza get such easy leads! Yes hes good from the front but even better when you keep letting him!

Rubbish day summed by Mosse inability to ride lingfield and raising sands very unlucky run. Still got the ew bit but losing day. Also the cruel death of Arthingdon just as it was getting in the race
  • Friday
Great call Dazzler, won well even with the idiot riding! Rascal misbehaved in the parade ring and went down awful! Knew my outcome early!

Trouble with Channons mob is they think they are going to win every race and youd be in the poor house if you listened to them. Quinns actually ran ok but hes useless so that's it! Weird day as most owners and trainers stayed in the bar!

Didnt really play so got out unharmed!

Oh well the goings mKing a joke of the day. Ho hum
  • One bet today
Forget that run, missed break and trapped on rails. Im not giving up on it just yet
  • Sunday
Well done micky, thats some payout! Thought lady was going to hack up but fair play to the winner who went again.

David will be chuffed with with worth waiting . Was going to go max given stable confidence but David hadnt had many runners yet so scaled back a bit. Elsworths ran no race
  • Ruby Walsh retires
Ah man one of the sporting greats in any field. Brilliant horseman, brilliant jockey and one hell of a man! Loved the crowd reaction, one of them. Thank you ruby
  • Altior/ Richard Johnson.
Yeah its happen a few times but Nico thinks hes doing it because hes having to travel faster than he wants to...thus the extra distance through age theory. also it was a very fast time on sat and no mention by the handicapper?

i pray hes sound but Hendersons are a caring lot...they had a brief "service" for Josses Hill this morning and he frustrated the hell out of them, but they still loved the old rogue
  • The rise and rise of Dan Skelton
Mugz, it took pipe years too get good horses as he flogged him half to death. Skelton will get the gambling types unless he can steal some owners from Nicholls!

Jim I partly agree but the championship is based on money not no of winners. Put it this way, its great being De Souza but id rather be frankie! (he earns 10 times more money for a fraction of the winners that De Souza has.

JP doesnt seem to have any plans for Skelton and Ryanair arent leaving Ireland so i cant really see how hes going to do it with what hes got or where these new owners are coming from. He has Hobbs, Nicholls and Tizard to contend with as well as Henderson and King. graded winners attract owners. Good luck to him but cant see it for many years

ahh yes, good point. lets hope Jamie has another "Ana!"...then i win my bet regarding Nicola winning a group race in her first claimless season! She really is exceptional and the Lambourn traines are queing up to use her
  • 525 Windsor
Hi Akd, yes i agree, Hughes are rarely ready fto. There was a lot of talk about the race from various trainers so think it may be good. the winner had a lot in hand so im not too worried about the time. And yes, im still dining out on Ana! that was an exceptional performance as Johnstons was a very good horse to
  • 525 Windsor
Well that was impressive and did the forecast as well! Keep an eye on all 3 as they wll will improve. i was pleased to see the one with experience well beat. meehans will come on a ton as will Hannons but the winners smart too...with a very smart jockey!
  • Altior/ Richard Johnson.
well Nico and Henderson seem pretty certain. And based on some of the rides that Johnson has given some of Murphys horses this season...what does he know! (joking!). The way it keeps sprinting away at the end of races suggest 3m round Kempton would be easy. As Nico said as a horse gets older it sometimetimes needs further as its speed blunts. I do share your concerns about wear and tear though, but Henderson is a master at knowing when theyve had enough. A nice summer in the fields await this brilliant and in my eyes (!) the best chaser in the world by miles
  • The rise and rise of Dan Skelton
No Muggz, no chance. hes doing a pipe ie winning 100s of low key races at odds on at the duff tracks. it took Pipe 10 years before he started winning graded races and the owner (David?) Johnson backing him. one lucky win at Cheltenham doesnt make him a genius. Dont forget Pipe made Scudamore champ jockey but actually how many championship races did Scudamore ever win?

And dont forget the Championship is based on prize money....50 wins round Newton Abbot in 3 runner micky mouse races = 1 Altior win in a Grade 1!
  • Friday
Reeves backed off the boards down to 13/2...5th!!! doh!
  • Wednesday
5th having lead all the way...of course Soto won!!!
  • Wednesday
Fast closing 2nd...not sure about the ride he gave 9having to switch around the winner) but the fact it was clsoing fast suggests it will get 1.5 miles. a winner waiting to happen....the 3rd was 6lengths clear of the 4th so suggests it was a good performance
  • Wednesday
25s into 9s and ran a cracker. At the furlong pole i thought hed won it...but still good ew profit. i see Cap Francais has been really well punted since last night...hope it can match the confidence in running!
  • 1 bet today
Pere, yoiu know i love to get the fat oaf ref in!!!

Interestingly Cyrname, out of its 5 wins in Britain its won 3 times on Good to soft and 2 times on good...hardly shouting that it suddenly needs soft ground!

Altior, out of its 19 wins in Britain (yes 19 v 5) has won 5 on good, 8 on good to soft and 6 on soft...suggesting it needs soft in the title as well. The difference is 1 trainer thinks old school ie if its good enough it will win on any ground bar the extremes. he other knows his horse is false rated top chaser and will find any excuse not to run. Funny how he never mentioned the ground until this week and dec stages?

Also for the record Cyrname has won 6 races from 16 and yielded £226k and Altior has won 19 races from 21 yielding £1,150,000 - yet the handicapper thinks Cyrname should give Altior 3 lbs!!!!!...just saying!
