whoops! Left Cliffs of Capri out...very amusing video by Jamie again suggesting something very profound between owner Michael Buckly and Jamie Spencer...the look on Nicola Curries face is brilliant! Cracking stuff, there should be more humour, but youll sense the warmth towards Nicola and how high regard she is held in. A very happy yard indeed

yeah i think they need to retire it, wont win even off this mark

Stainless , after Black Saturday (Rugby and Racing!) i definitely needed a good soaking! You know when your luck is out....i sussed the Irish 2yo form (and subsequently French!) was better than the English, but got the selection of which one completely wrong but then had a good bet on Siskin who did a great impression of an Olympic diver in the stalls (thank goodness, all seems ok and lives to fight another day). Ill be seeing Irish Hippos soon!!

I really am losing the plot! Molinari is also running in the 230! Ive backed it at 16/1 and may regret my bet Surrey Pride as i know Willie holds it in high regard. Apparently 25/1 was available earlier! Doh! I need to lay down!
  • Middle Park
Mugz it won a tin pot sales race, coulnt even head a 100/1 shot! Grp1s are a million miles away from a sales plus moore rode it right out to achieve the big margin. Looked suspicious as if they wanted to sell it! Add threat and the english 2 yo form is looking poor.

Hope siskin is ok, looked nasty

Well at least we know, pinatubo aside, the english 2yo is poop! Just heard racing tv idiot say mums tipple didnt fire? Is he for real? It won a mickey mouse sales race! It couldnt even lead a 100/1 dhot. Threat also murdered and the French race has largely worked out. Im guessing pinatubo will shorten as this lot couldnt tie his laces or hoofs!

Well i knew the Irish 2yo form is better but wow good luck at newmarket today!
  • Thurs
well, pretty dismal! Mascat won and wasnt expecting 6/4 but still didnt play. Irene May ran well in 6th and a bit unlucky not to finish closer. Persuasion ran well and got my only return on the day! Onwards to tomorrow
  • Couple of antepost bets
at decs stage...usually 0900? Not sure since they computerised it. Your bookie should have the info
  • Couple of antepost bets
yep! Just read Jamie Osbornes reasoning....will be too soft with top weight and as 1m 1f is stretching its stamina anyway...waiting for a race at Ascot in Oct instead. Also Vividly pulled from Haydock which was expected as Haydock gets very boggy,

No refund on Raising either! Outraged!!! lol
  • Hippo / Goodwood going.
surely an upgrade Plaice! As you said, loved that going

Ha ha Dexy, "clearly touched" is the phrase youre looking for!
  • Couple of antepost bets
slogan, im at a loss, i took it at ante post terms and was happy to take it on the chin although it had been backed. Always knew it had the easier option but hoped Hills would get his way with Grimthorpe...but clearly not. No idea why i got a refund, but not going to push them!!!! Maybe theyve looked at all my losses over the years and thought "poor lamb"!!! They did this before on a nr at Chelt that was definitely AP not nr no bet. Weird. But if it runs at Haydock id say its a good thing!
  • Couple of antepost bets
wow, got a refund for Vividly off Bet365 as it now runs in the easier 130 Sat at Haydock. No explanation given but gratefully accepted!

Yeah, didnt look that good a ride but im not sure the horse was helping. Has now hung left and right and not gone in the stalls. Also it looked a hot race and I was annoyed as Meehans thought theirs would run well but the Hills horse was stronger and well backed. I think the front 3 are useful as no visual excuse for Applebys. i want abandon Dulas as its held in very high regard and will pop up once it sorts his head out!

Got my 2/1 on charltons do happy days! Gypsy worth backing next time and sir thomas was unlucky

If you get a chance please read the "race read" on Shufoog yesterday (Sandown 505). It was 6/1 in the morning and fancied by Mark usher (he even gave it a great chance on the Lambourn link on this site). They couldnt see it being out of the 1st 3 and had good form for the lowly grade....wind the clock forward 2 hours and it was 25/1 and 33/1 in some places (I took 22/1)....now I know Mark is straight and his jock Ellie MacKenzie even straighter (plus they both are desperate for winners) but the race felt odd before hand and worse after i watched it. the RP noted......."Held up and soon in last, ridden 2f out, some progress over 1f out, kept on steadily final furlong and never nearer (op 18/1 tchd 12/1)".....so how did the bookies know that would happen? Would you lay a horse who was runner up last twice (hurdles and flat), was fancied and talked up by a trainer who needs the winners and ridden by a promising 7lb claimer who is dead in form? I used to make a few quid by noting "never nearer" horses but they were usually O Meara, Easterby, Akehurst and the band of cheats known to us! What did the bookies know about this horse? Bizzarely the winner drifted on course from 5/1 to 10/1 and also ran a strange race " Tracked leading pair, ridden and lost place 2f out and others went for home, driven and stayed on 1f out, burst between rivals to lead final 75yds 10/1 (op 6/1 tchd 11/2)" The hot Fav Seascape was backed from 9/2 in the morning to 2/1 and ran no sort of race last "Tracked leaders, shaken up over 2f out, lost place well over 1f out, soon weakened 2/1 (op 10/3 tchd 7/2). Note it was also heavily backed on course when there was no value left.

Strange one and ive noted all the horses as i think the whole race was suspect.....maybe the way it was raced ...fairly slow time for the ground and i know they are not the best of horses.

No doubt the BHA were in the bar by this time!

Forget the Chesham reference in the 325 race, it applied to another horse (stoutes) in the 1st that i was going to oppose but couldnt decide what with!
